The Ph.D. program in the Department of Economics at Columbia University trains students to do cutting edge research in economics. Six residence units beyond the undergraduate degree are required for the PhD. Continuous registration until completion of all requirements is obligatory. A maximum of two residence units may be credited for academic work completed at another university or in another division of Columbia University upon review and approval by faculty.

PhD in Management PhD students with a concentration in organizational sciences prepare a program of study subject to the approval of their doctoral program committees.
